Poverty, Intention, and Prospective Agency

This talk examines prospective agency, the human capacity to form commitments and coordinate actions over time. While philosophical discussions of agency typically focus on stable environments of affluence, this presentation explores how agency functions in contexts of poverty, characterized by structural unpredictability and scarcity. The discussion reinterprets the philosophical notion of intention, proposing that intention is not always tied to traditional plans but can manifest in various forms adapted to the agent's practical environment.
