This course covers planning, designing, and creating mix-and-match assets to build customizable characters. Instruction focuses on techniques for designing readable and animateable hair and clothing for a template character to compile a complete wardrobe. No prior art or pixel art experience is required. Participants are expected to bring a laptop with Aseprite or LibreSprite, or an iPad with Pixsquare, along with a mouse or drawing tablet.
