Hiking the Trails of Silver Creek

This hiking route traverses the Bennet Heritage Trail, Irwin Quarry, and Robert Side Rd. The path is known for its ecological diversity along the Niagara Escarpment and features the Great Esker trail, a rare glacial ridge formed by subglacial meltwater. The landscape includes sugar maple and hemlock forests, the Credit River headwaters, and habitats for wildlife such as white-tailed deer and spotted salamanders. The rugged, technical terrain includes steep rocky inclines, limestone crevices, and muddy lowland sections, requiring appropriate footwear for stream crossings.
