The Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital and Camp M Tour

This walking tour explores the history of the Mimico area, focusing on the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital, which was established in 1889 as the Mimico Asylum and designed with a unique cottage-style layout by Kivas Tully and Dr. Joseph Workman. The tour also covers the history of the Victoria Industrial School for Boys, later known as the Mimico Reform School, and its role during World War II as Camp M, also known as Internment Camp 22, which housed over 520 German prisoners of war.
