OWASP Ottawa: Community Building and Malware Analysis

This event features two technical presentations. The first session explores how a student-led organization grew into a broader community network through volunteering and proactive engagement in the tech sector. The second session provides a technical walkthrough of modern malware analysis, specifically examining the Shai-Hulud self-replicating worm. This talk covers static and dynamic analysis, YARA detection, and the mechanics of credential harvesting involved in the compromise of numerous software packages.
