The Capital City Big Band, a community ensemble founded in 2017, performs a variety of classic and contemporary Big Band compositions. Under the direction of Eric Wieden, the program features works by Sammy Nestico, Thad Jones, Bob Florence, Marian McPartland, and Duke Ellington, ranging from high-energy swing to lush ballads and modern jazz textures.
