This seminar provides an introduction to packet capture using the latest stable version of Wireshark. Participants learn network analysis techniques through practical packet capture and dump analysis using this open-source LAN analyzer. The curriculum focuses on reviewing the fundamentals of network protocols and architecture, as well as observing encapsulation, decapsulation, and TCP/IP packet structures. Topics include Wireshark mechanics, capture preparation, display and capture filters, and software customization. A strong background in TCP/IP and command-line operations is required for this technical course.
