Among Women

Kappella Kyrie Slavic Chamber Choir of Edmonton presents a choral concert celebrating women as composers, poets, and inspirations. The program features a diverse selection of sacred and secular music, including works by Ukrainian female composers such as Stefania Turkewich, as well as contemporary pieces by Victoria Vita Poleva, Ola Gjeilo, Peter Togni, and Arvo Pärt. The performance also includes arrangements by Beethoven and Billy Joel. The concert features a collaboration with Elegance Strings, a string quartet composed of musicians who fled Ukraine following the Russian invasion. The repertoire is designed to be both reflective and uplifting, highlighting the contributions of women in musical history.
