Transcendence by Speplól Tanya Zilinski

Transcendence is an exhibition by artist Speplól Tanya Zilinski featuring large-scale loom beadwork tapestries sewn onto British Melton wool. The works integrate Anishinaabe, Ts’qó:ls, and Ukrainian storytelling traditions with themes of geometry, chaos theory, and the natural world, serving as a form of cultural reclamation. The exhibition includes three series created between 2020 and 2025, covering topics ranging from Indigenous science and geometric floral patterns to the connection between past and future generations. A participatory paper installation titled Transcendence Ripple Wall is also included to explore themes of pattern and intuition.
