City Hall · 1 Sir Winston Churchill Square, Edmonton, AB
This exhibition celebrates Black artists in Edmonton through a series of portraits presented on five curved panels. The experience unfolds in three stages: LOOK, which establishes dignity and visibility; APPROACH, which focuses on individuality and personal expression; and ENGAGE, which utilizes augmented reality to allow artists to share their stories and perspectives on local culture. The project emphasizes that authentic belonging requires active attention and connection rather than simple representation. It was developed within the framework of the Edmonton Anti-Black Racism Action Plan and the Edmonton Arts Council.
